Watched most of the Australian Dragonboat Championship today and the best thing, my uncle Terry won the masters Dragonboat 20. Meaning: agegroup 40-50, 20 men paddling, 1 man steering and 1 woman drumming.

Terry is the person in the front of boat nr. 3, paddling on the left side.

Hab' mir heute den Großteil des Australian Dragonboat Championship angeschaut und das Beste, mein Onkel Terry gewann das Masters Dragonboat 20. Bedeutet: Altersklasse 40-50, 20 Männer paddeln, 1 man lenkt und eine Frau trommelt. Terry ist die Person vorn links in Boot nr 3.

Went to football tonight, North Melbourne VS Essendon in the Etihad Stadium. A gripping match ending NM 102 and Ess 104.

An diesem Tag hab ich mir die Stadt angeschaut. Mithilfe des Free Bus kam ich durch die ganze Stadt und stieg mittags in den Royal Botanic Gardens aus



und da gab es ziemlich schöne Pflanzen



und Blüten



Nachmittags half ich meiner Cousine beim Umzug.

I had a look at the city today. With a little help from the free bus I came around the city and got off the bus at the Royal Botanic Gardens where there were beautiful plants and buds. In the afternoon I helped my cousin to move out.

Nach einer 2 stündigen Zugfahrt kamen wir in Bendigo an.



Nach einem Spaziergang und dem Mittagessen haben wir, meine Großeltern und ich, uns eine Austellung angeschaut von Theresa Poletti Glover (http://feltart.com.au/). Danach fuhren wir zu Theresa and Darryls Haus und aßen dort zu Abend. Nach einer Nacht im Shamrock Hotel gingen wir erst durch den Stadtpark in dem wir hunderte Flying Foxes entdeckten, danach erkundeten wir weite Teile Bendigos zu Fuß.

After a 2 hour trip via Train we arrived in Bendigo.

After a short walk and lunch we, my grandparents and I, had a look at Theresa Poletti Glover's exhibition (http://feltart.com.au/). After the exhibtion we drove to Theresa and Darryl's place and had dinner with them. After a night in the Shamrock Hotel we walked through the citypark and discovered hundreds of flying foxes, later we explored other parts of Bendigo on foot.

Nach der Ankunft in Melbourne um etwa 10 Uhr war erstmal chillen angesagt. Abends gingen wir, meine Großeltern und ich, zu einer Spendenaktion für das St Vincent Hospital, der Oper im Markt. Aufgebaut war die Oper im Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, es gab gutes Essen, kühle Getränke und hervorragenden Gesang.



After the arrival in Melbourne at around 10 AM, I first of all had to relax. In the evening we, my grandparents and I, went to a fundraising for the St Vincent Hospital, the Opera in the market. The Opera was set up in the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, there was great food, cool drinks and brilliant singing.

In Shanghai angekommen, regnete es. Ich bin durch die Stadt gelaufen und habe viele Fotos geschossen. Aufgefallen sind mir besonders die Kontraste, Reich und Arm. Ein brandneuer 7er BMW, natürlich 8 Zylinder, auf der einen Seite, ein Slum mit zerfallen Häusern auf der anderen Seite. Ich habe versucht dies in einem Foto einzufangen



Arrived in Shanghai, it rained. I walked through the city und took many photos . What struck me most where the contrasts, rich and poor. A brandnew series 7 BMW, of course with 8 cylinders, on the one side and a slum with decaying houses on the other side. I tried to capture this with a foto.

bin ich nun schon in Australien. Nach einem halbtägigen Stop in Shanghai ging es endlich nach Melbourne. Dort lebe ich bei meinen Großeltern mitten in Melbourne. Bisher habe ich meine Verwandten besucht, das Kino besucht, viel gutes Essen zu mir genommen, nach Motorrädern für die große Tour gesucht, ein Footballspiel live gesehn und viele kleinere Erkundungen von Melbourne unternommen. Die angesprochene Motorradtour startet um den 14. April und wird in diesem Blog dokumentiert. Hauptdarsteller der Motorradtour sind Gerhard und Geoffrey (ich).

In English:

I arrived in Australia on the 21.March. After a halfday stop-over in Shanghai I finally arrived in Melbourne. There, I'm living with my grandparents in the middle of the city. Since then I've visited some relatives, visisted the movies, had great food, looked for motorcycles for our trip, watched a game of football and went vor many small explorations around Melbourne. The motorcycletrip I mentioned before will start around the 14. April und will be documented in this Blog. Main actors of the motorcycletrip are Gerhard and Geoffrey (me).
